Editorial policy

The NRI Diary connects readers with useful local information and original guides. We attribute references and link to original sources. We do not reproduce full third-party news articles or publish scraped feed text as editorial copy.

Publication gate

Draft, review, approval and publication are separate states. Content cannot enter an approved, scheduled or published state unless the current revision has at least one verified source and an editorial approval tied to that exact revision and source set. Editing a published or approved item invalidates the previous approval and sends the changed copy back through review.

Sources and revalidation

Published sources record the organization, jurisdiction, retrieval date, last verification, reviewer and a future revalidation date. Expired, future-dated, pending or otherwise incomplete source verification cannot satisfy the publication gate. High-impact topics also require an explicit informational disclaimer.

Review and translation

Translations are reviewed separately and must match the current source revision. A published translation requires an approval timestamp and reviewer identity. If a translation is edited, its prior review is cleared. When reviewed content is unavailable in your chosen language, we show the source-language version with a clear notice.

Ingestion and news

External ingestion, when separately enabled and licensed, creates a review item only. An editor must visit the canonical source, confirm attribution and rights, and write original editorial text before a draft can be created. Ingestion never publishes automatically. Synthetic QA fixtures are staging-only and cannot enter a publication state or appear in public article reads.

High-impact information

Immigration, tax, legal, health, emergency and financial information needs current authoritative references, a reviewer, revalidation and an informational disclaimer. Our content does not replace a qualified professional or the responsible authority.

Community submissions

Listings require moderation. A listing is not an endorsement. Report incorrect or unsafe listings for review. Automated assistance is never represented as government advice.

Corrections and accountability

Source changes, material corrections and editorial revisions are versioned and auditable. We prefer withdrawing or updating unsupported content over leaving a stale claim public. The public source panel shows the source organization and verification date so readers can return to the responsible authority.
