The NRI Diary is operated by Lotus Cloud, Inc.. You can browse public guides without signing in. Language and location choices are stored on your device. An account is required to synchronize preferences, save stories or submit community listings.

Data we use

Sign-in uses Firebase Authentication. Account features store your selected preferences, bookmarks and submitted listings. Editorial and moderation actions have an audit record. Personalization uses explicit preferences; the portal does not require precise location tracking or sensitive profiling.

Retention

• Account identity, preferences and bookmarks are retained while the account is active and are processed through the governed deletion workflow when deletion is requested.
• Closed moderation reports are reviewed after 90 days for deletion or minimization when they are no longer needed.
• Audit/security records are reviewed after 180 days, subject to incident, integrity, finance or preservation requirements.
• Minimal deletion-completion receipts expire after 180 days and do not contain the deleted account identifier.

Deletion and preservation

Account deletion requires recent authentication and an operator review. Final erasure is blocked until editorial retention is reviewed, finance obligations are resolved and no legal hold or preservation instruction prevents deletion. A legal hold does not silently become an exception: final deletion remains blocked until it is resolved.

Service providers and processing

The portal currently uses Google Firebase / Google Cloud for identity and application data and Vercel for application hosting and runtime operations. Other integrations listed below remain disabled unless separately approved. Provider processing locations are governed by their applicable service terms; The NRI Diary does not claim that all processing is confined to one jurisdiction.

• Vercel: Application hosting, deployment, and runtime logs (active)
• Stripe: Future billing and entitlement processing (disabled)
• External news provider: Future governed news ingestion (disabled)
• External translation provider: Future governed editorial translation (disabled)
• External PADMA execution: Future governed AI-assisted workflows (disabled)

Your choices

You can turn personalization off in your preferences, remove saved stories, export account data by section, and request account deletion. Browser language and location choices can be cleared through your browser settings.
