London: understand City Hall and your borough council

London City Hall, also known as the Greater London Authority, handles citywide leadership, policies and selected London-wide programs. Its official site can help you understand citywide responsibilities and find support resources available across London.

Many everyday local services are delivered by London's borough councils rather than City Hall. Identify your borough before applying for housing services, local council tax matters, waste collection or other borough-level services. National matters remain the responsibility of the UK government.
